Physical property

It is a hygroscopic white powder with a sweet taste. It decomposes at approximately 310°C, is very soluble in water, readily soluble in methanol, soluble in ethanol, and sparingly soluble in diethyl ether. Under decomposition with concentrated potassium hydroxide solution, it produces trimethylamine.
 

Product application

Betaine belongs to the class of quaternary ammonium alkaloids. Anhydrous betaine, a new type of fine chemical, can be widely applied in fields such as food, pharmaceuticals, daily chemicals, printing and dyeing, and chemical industry.
